Research Focus. My projects all consider some aspect or another of spatial inequality. My current projects include: (a) the political economy of rural and regional development in the U.S. and in ex-socialist eastern Europe, (b) how social mobilities are reshaping the urban-rural periphery,(c) commuting behavior among rural in-migrants in England and the U.S.,(d) the process through which.
Professor Beadle-Brown completed her Masters in French and Pschology and PhD at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. Her PhD focused on imitation, theory of mind and play in autistic children and adults.

The Department of Sociology requires a writing sample from all applicants to the Ph.D. Program. The Admissions Committee will be looking for original work giving evidence of both writing ability and the capacity for research, analysis, and original thought at the graduate level. Your writing sample could be an Honors or Master's Thesis, published paper, co-written paper, or comparable article.
Adam Brown is a clinical psychologist whose research focuses on identifying psychological and biological factors that contribute to negative mental health outcomes following exposure to traumatic stress and developing interventions guided by advances in cognitive neuroscience. A focus of this research is the use of behavioral and brain-imaging techniques to examine the role of memory and self.
